I’d be in politics till the end of my life– Buhari assures supporters

Retired General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential flag bearer of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the 2011 general elections, has said that he would not quit politics and would allow his party to decide on who would be its presidential flag bearer in the 2015 elections.
Buhari made this known while receiving CPC supporters in Kaduna that paid him a courtesy call.

Buhari told the crowd in Hausa; “nayi ma siyasa shigar sojan badakkare,” which roughly means, “I will be in politics till the end of my life.”
He added; “I am still in until the polity is sanitised and people enjoy the fruits of democracy at all levels of government.”
Buhari assured the gathering that CPC would continue to feature credible people to contest election in order to ensure that Nigeria is returned to the right track. He said it is only unity of CPC members that would ensure their victory in future elections.
He also advised security agencies, the judiciary, and INEC to exhibit a high degree of professionalism and patriotism at all times for the progress of the country. Buhari urged youths to shun acts of violence, thuggery and money politics for them to ensure a bright future.
While stressing the need for Nigerians to fight for their rights, Buhari urged CPC supporters nationwide to copy the example of Nasarawa State to ensure that no one snatches their mandate in future elections.
Ibrahim Kailani, the Leader of the CPC supporters that paid Buhari the courtesy visit, has urged General Buhari to contest the 2015 elections adding that it would not be fair for the former Head of State to abandon his supporters at this time that they need him most.
