After Church Gun Attack, Bomb Blast Rocks Kogi Again!

Attention of terrorists in Nigeria seem to have shifted to Kogi State as the state has recorded two deadly attacks under a period of eighteen hours. A bomb blast was reported on Tuesday morning at the Harmony Nursey and Primary School at Genaja Junction in Lokoja, the state capital.
On Monday evening, 17 people were killed in a gun attack on the Deeper Life Church behind the Federal College of Education in Okene.Survivors of the attack confirmed that a yet to be ascertained number of gunmen swooped on the church while Bible Study was going on and the first thing they did was that they plunged the church into darkness by switching off the power generating set. The gunmen who had manned all the entrances then opened fire on the church members. The Pastor and about 15 others died on the spot while one of the members died in hospital as a result of the gunshots.
Churches in Okene were targets of suicide bomb attacks in July.
